Liked the way the book is laid out with recipes, photos, wines and simple fare. The back story is terrific and charming. Have read and cooked from cookbookS by ooauthor Kate Leahy. She never disappoints. Thought the customers have a delightful array of specialty small plates to have with their wines. Thoughtfully produced. These recipes seemed to translate easily for the home chef. My first recipe was the lemon meringue. Loved the story surrounding it. Thought I’d made too much meringue but took to a dinner party and it was easily gobbled up. The four men at the table thought it was a delight. Finally bought myself a cooking torch Have made the terrine, big beans, chicken in hay, among just some of the recipes. Pet food stores bag of hay filled my needs. Yummy, the chicken not the hay! As far as the content of the book goes it’s a beautiful and comprehensive cookbook. However I ordered this book as a gift twice and both times it arrived filthy and damaged. Both times the condition was listed as”new” and both times there was damage to the spine and front cover.
